Poor Hailey

Last night Hailey managed to destroy her KONG. When I say destroy, I really mean eat.I was watching tv and could hear her chewing her KONG, when all of a sudden I looked over and the top of the ball (it's conical shaped) was gone! Completely gone.

Luckily, my dad is a veterinarian, so at 10pm, I called him in a slight panic as my dog had just consumed industrial rubber. We then had to go to the drugstore to buy hydrogen peroxide (per the vet)to make her throw up. We gave her some and she started to shake a little bit. I totally freaked out. I just couldn't see her shake like that. (I am now a total failure as a parent). Luckily my husband didn't freak out and stayed with Hailey while she puked in a bucket.

I think she threw most of what she had eaten up, which is a really good thing. I did clean up the vomit, so I can handle this kind of thing. (because the more I say it the more true it is, right?).

This morning she was back to her normal self. She ate her breakfast and was excited about going on a walk. Actually, she was fine last night. When we let her out, she tried to eat moths. The only problem now is what on earth can we give her to chew on? I had so much faith in the KONG, so much for the indestructible ball.
