So this past weekend I was in the Motor City for my brother-in-law's wedding. The wedding was fabulous, spending time with my family was fabulous, and even the hotel was great. Detroit, however, sucked. I was hoping there would be more to do, but alas there really wasn't anything to do in downtown Detroit, except Greektown. Greektown was okay, but it takes all of an hour to explore. That leaves a lot of day left.
The real low point of the trip was being across the river from Windsor, Canada, but not being able to go to Canada because we left our passports at home. Windsor looked like it was so much more fun than Detroit, but maybe I was suffering from "the grass is always greener on the other side" syndrome.
The superficial highlight of my trip to Detroit is that I had a star-sighting. I saw Eva from America's Next Top Model 3 in the lobby. It was exciting, well sort of, as I couldn't remember her name.
Hailey did not travel to Detroit. She stayed with my parents. She didn't get into too much trouble while she was there. The one comment my parents had about her stay was "she hasn't met a couch she didn't like". So, true, so true.
