Seriously, it's like manna from heaven. Today I chose to get my standby beverage - a nonfat, sugar-free vanilla latte. I opted for fully caffienated, which I will probably pay for this afternoon, but right now it is grrr-eat!
I wish that I could have gotten my favorite drink, a white chocolate mint mocha. Now that's heavenly or at least a vanilla cooler, but alas I'm watching my carbs and calories and those two beverages don't quite qualify as low carb or low cal.
My new thing at coffee shops is to get my iced lattes without ice. Seriously, they dump so much ice in the cup that I don't want to pay for. I tried asking for less ice for awhile, but no one seemed to understand what that meant. So now I either ask for no ice or 5 ice cubes. It's annoying but it works. This way half of my $4.00 drink isn't cheapo ice. My thrifty German Grandpa would be so proud. Actually he wouldn't because he would never justify spending $4.00 on coffee in the first place.
My favorite coffee shop in the whole wide world is Caribou Coffee. I'm obsessed with it. It's really quite sad (at least that's what my husband tells me). I get very excited when I travel and find new Caribous in other states. If you are interested in the best coffee ever, you can check their website out - Caribou Coffee. Consumer Reports rated their whole bean coffee as the best! Starbucks didn't even place in the top ten.
I also really like Starbucks Nutritional Information Calculator. It's been very helpful in assessing what beverage I should and shouldn't consume.
